Get 5,000 Reward Points and the MGO Codec Pack

If you register for Metal Gear Online Retail Version between now and February 16th, 2009 you'll receive 5,000 award points to be redeemed in the MGO in-game shop as well as the MGO Codec Pack that includes special voice content. It's what Konami calls the "Welcome Rookie" campaign as they are trying to drum up new players. You can only do this if you haven't previously installed or registered the retail version of Metal Gear Online. If you haven't played and want to try out the demo, a free version is up until January 29th. I've never registered myself so this might be a good time for me to jump in and see what the hoopla is all about.

A runaway success with over one million members, Metal Gear Online provided registered members with fun, fresh new content for the online tactical shooter based on the highly acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series. To continue the momentum, Konami has announced the launch of the "Welcome Rookie" Campaign to attract new members to the exciting online phenomenon. The campaign will reward all fans who register the Metal Gear Online retail version between December 24, 2008 and February 16, 2009 with special MGO Codec Pack, that includes special voice content, and 5,000 additional reward points that can be redeemed in the MGO in-game shop to purchase items that can be used in the game. The exclusive Welcome Rookie Campaign is only open to players who have not previously installed and registered the retail version of Metal Gear Online on their PLAYSTATION®3 entertainment system. WHEN:
