In a couple weeks my upcoming review of Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl
should be hitting the site as the October 1st launch date draws closer. For those wondering what the game is like prior to my review, Atlus has released a demo on the Nintendo 3DS eShop that you can download and check out. Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl
is somewhat of a remake of the first game in the Etrian Odyssey series that was released for the Nintendo DS back in 2007. The demo for the newest game in the series will allow you to go through the first two floors of the main dungeon as well as the first floor of a new dungeon. This will allow you to get a feel for how things work, and if you like what you played the full game will have the option of carrying over your data from the demo so you won't have to start from scratch...unless you want to of course.
To celebrate the launch of the demo, Atlus has released a video that's centered around one of the game's characters that you'll be using: Simon. Simon is a medic and the video shows off his skills in battle. Leveling him up properly can unlock more powerful skills, including a skill to cure status ailments from multiple characters at once. Quite useful, especially when going up against multiple enemies that can poison your party in a single turn.

For series veterans, Classic mode offers the traditional Etrian Odyssey
gameplay, which is updated to the latest conveniences found in Etrian Odyssey IV
, including full 3-D graphics and the inclusion of the new Grimoire Stone System, which allows players to expand their party members' skills and even learn the skills of enemies.

Etrian Odyssey Untold's Simon -- The Medic
|SIMON YORKE - MEDIC
The brains of the operation among the Midgard Library investigation team, Simon is as skilled with a blade as he is with a bandage. His passion for research means he's rarely at a disadvantage, whether he's dealing with enemies he's read about somewhere or negotiating passage with foreign governments.
His natural expertise lies in his medical training, allowing him to get a party member back on their feet after a serious or even mortal wound. Should anyone suffer a status ailment or bind, he can alleviate that as well. Beyond that, the Grimoire Stone he carries gives him a few swordsman's tricks, making him a capable combat medic.
