Stardock wants to get your attention in regards to Elemental: War of Magic and their most recent way of doing so is by posting a couple of trailers to YouTube. The first video is the intro to the game itself. So only watch this one if you're ok with not having as many surprises when you first play the game
The second video shows a little game play in action and what the story based, turn oriented game looks like from a playable perspective.
With StarCraft II
finally out, the turn based folks might be a little busy for a while, but Elemental
looks worth a look, especially once everyone gets tired of getting ZOMG ZERG RUSHED again.
Elemental: War of Magic
opens a world of magic and ancient lore as players begin the game as one of the few beings in the world still able to channel power from shards of magic – a series of mystical artifacts left over from a great cataclysm. You must decide how much of your power to imbue into your heroes as you build cities, explore dungeons, learn spells of ever-increasing power and negotiate with friends and foes. The game also includes integrated modding tools that allow players to create their own fantasy maps, monsters, tiles, effects and much more. The game’s story-driven campaign, written by Random House’s writing team, was made exclusively with the built-in modding tools.
