From the "that didn't take long" file comes news that the ESA has sued
the state of California over their recently passed law regarding
selling video games to minors. Look, we all know that selling
violent games to minors is bad but laws like this are so poorly worded
and obtuse that enforcing them becomes a major burden and expense for
tax payers. That of course is besides all of the fun
constitutional issues that laws like this raise. This marks the
third lawsuit that the ESA has going right now as they are currently
suing the states of Illinois and Michigan for similar laws. Ars
Technica has posted a good article with a detailed description of the
lawsuits
here.
Kotaku also has a nice
summary of some of the fallout from the law being signed last week.
