E3 07: Atlus Booth Tour

More On: E3 07
I don’t think there’s any doubt that we love Atlus here at GamingNexus. They always seem to be bringing out cool new games that are different and fun. Not all of them are great but there seem to be more hits than misses.   This year was no different as we got to see some interesting new titles.

The first game on display was Trauma Center: New Blood for the Wii. The game is an all new game and takes place 10 years after the last game. There will be a complete new cast of characters and they will be fully voiced. Fans of the original series will be happy to know that there will be some cameos from the original characters. Atlus just had a video of the game running at their booth but they still expect the game to ship this holiday season.

Those who like rhythm games and J-Pop music (Matt) will want to check out Ontamarama for the Nintendo DS. The game is a little bit like Elite Beat Agents but slightly harder. The game will feature 12 stages and 22 different songs and should be out later this year.

Persona 3 will make fans of the series happy as the game continues the adventures of the high school students with special powers. The game is a hybrid Dungeon crawl/dating sim with players interacting with each other during the daylight and interacting with monsters at night (sounds like last year’s E3). The dungeons are randomly generated every time you fire the game up which should extend the re-playability of the game.

I haven’t played the previous Touch Detective game but after seeing Touch Detective 2.5 I’m thinking I might have to go back and check them out. The game continues the adventures of Mackenzie as she tries to solve yet another mystery for the Great Detective Society. The game has some very cool visuals and was one of the funnier games I saw at E3 (Gundam Dynasty was the funniest but not in a good way). What I really liked was that you interacted with characters got Mackenzie’s thoughts on the interacting in the top DS screen. The game looks to be a lot of fun and should make fans of the series happy.

Those looking for a good DS strategic RPG will want to check out Lumines Arc. How do I know it’s good? I know it’s good because the AI absolutely wiped the floor with me during my short time with the game. The visuals are strong and I think fans of the genre will dig the game.
