Dreamfall stays on the mind...
As the year end game awards are released from various outlets, I saw one of the titles I reviewed, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey made several "Best of 2006" lists. I have to say when I got done with the game, I was angry. I really was. I kept thinking "How can they take these characters that I was just getting to know, put them in a horrible situation, and then end the game with me not knowing what happened to them?" Clearly it was the opening to complete the Longest Journey saga, but me as a player, i felt betrayed by the writers. Now that I've had a few months since I finished playing, I realized that there have been a lot of games I've played since May, but very few have made me actually care about the characters, let alone stayed in my head months later. Seeing the continued buzz for this game makes me hope that my conversation with the lead developer at E3 06 talking about the possibility of a 3rd title in the series holds true.
