Developer diary begins for Sword of the Stars II

It has been three whole months since Paradox Interactive and Kerberos Productions were talking about the new graphics engine for Sword of the Stars II.  Since the game is scheduled to be released in 2011, we should start seeing more news and assets.  That media train has left the station with today's announcement of a developer diary which can be found here.  

The CEO of Kerberos Productions talks about their approach to the sequel.  What do they want to keep?  What challenges did they face in the early stages of design?  You can read what he has to say and while you are doing that be sure to check out two new screenshots which show off the new engine. 

Sword of the Stars II Developer Diary Blasts Off

Paradox Interactive and Kerberos Productions today announced the successful launch of the first developer diary for Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter, the follow-up to the hit 4X strategy game, Sword of the Stars. The first in a series of articles recounting the grueling missions undertaken by the game’s daring developers, this diary outlines core differences between the original and the ambitious sequel. In addition, to celebrate the occasion, a couple of brand new screenshots of the game have been released.
