Free-to-play football sim Maximum Football horse-collared by delay

In a bit of unfortunate news, developer Maximum Games and publisher Modus Games have delayed free-to-play American football sim Maximum Football to the Fall. The game's Steam Early Access was originally planned for this Spring, but the team simply need more time to execute their gameplan. Following its Early Access period, it will also be heading to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, presumably sometime in the Spring of 2024. Maximum Football is one of the first sports titles to utilize Unreal Engine 5 and is showing a lot of promise in the development process. It was one of my most-anticipated console games of 2023, but it looks like I'll be moving that goalpost to 2024. Alright, that's enough football puns for one news story.
