ArcRunner demo now available on Steam during Steam Next Fest

PQube has released a demo for their upcoming roguelite game ArcRunner that you can check out during the Steam Next Fest from now through February 12th. In ArcRunner a meta-virus has infected KORE, the AI of the space station The Arc. This is causing the ArcRunner protocol to be initialized. Your goal is to traverse the station, defeat its zone guardians, and locate and reset KORE. The only problem is that every robotic entity on The Arc wants to stop you from doing that. The demo allows you to run through the entire first zone of the game, check out the Soldier and Ninja classes, and check out the weapons and other tech the game has to offer. At the end of each level you can visit the Autodoc to choose some powerful upgrades, customizing your character however you wish to play them.

I checked out the demo and it does look pretty fun, though it can be a bit of a challenge at the same time. You're given a tutorial to go over the controls before getting throw into the first area. My biggest issue was that the radar in the lower-right corner of the screen can be a bit small and I was constantly getting hit by enemies off in the distance I didn't even realize was there. Granted a lot of that was probably my own lack of skill with a new game and I'll definitely give this another shot down the road. While there's no release date yet for ArcRunner, you can check out the demo on Steam and the game will also launch on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
