Try Turbo Sloths - a lunatic post-apocalyptic racing game staring sloths in giant construction machines - for free on Steam

Turbo Sloths is a crazy, crazy game. Players take the wheels of gigantic construction-looking machines with jet engines welded to them and attempt to guide these insanely unwieldy contraptions around courses while robot dogs run out onto the track in front of them and drones drop bombs from above. Oh, and all of the player characters are sloths.

There is a free demo on Steam right now for Turbo Sloths, which allows the player to spend a couple of hours with the game, just kinda doing what ever they want. I spend about an hour yesterday messing around out of pure curiosity, and while I found Turbo Sloths to be insanely difficult (I might have to bump the difficulty down to Easy and see what happens), I had a pretty good time trying to build up the beginnings of my sloth-racer career.

Race types are varied, and perhaps not surprisingly, I had a much easier time with races on straightaways than on courses with a lot of twists and turns. One little tap from another racer sends the player spinning off into the junk on the side of the track, which of course unleashes a torrent of cursing from me and a quick jam on the "Restart Race" button. Still though, the game looks great, and the smashable chaos on the tracks is visually very impressive.

Turbo Sloths is being developed by Rain Style Games, which has been working on the title for over two years. The team seems to be very open to input on the game, as it is the debut title for the studio.

There is no official release date for Turbo Sloths yet, but the Steam page does say "November 2022", which is now. While we are waiting for the full game, any interested players can hop in and check out the demo here.
