Explore a house haunted by technology in PS VR’s Torn

More On: Torn

Aspyr Media’s Torn seems to hold deep and hidden secrets. At first glance, it looks like a standard walking simulator, with the main character, a video blogger, doing some light puzzle solving while exploring an abandoned building. But just moments into the trailer, Torn is revealed to be something much more.

Our vlogger, Katherine Patterson, discovers that the house she is exploring is still inhabited, though the primary inhabitant is trapped between dimensions. Dr. Talbot, the owner of the house, has customized his house with strange machines and wild experiments, and now it is up to Katherine (with the help of the disembodied and dimensionally-disadvantaged Talbot) to make her way through the house and use its hidden tech to discover the secrets that live within.

According to the official PlayStation page, “Torn opens as a narrative puzzle game, then evolves into a dark, character-driven story as you slowly uncover the truth about Talbot, and the new dimension he calls “The Parallel.” Remember everything you see, for in Talbot’s world, truth is nothing more than the invention of the mind.”

The trailer looks very cool, with high end graphics and a fun stylized visual look. Torn releases on PlayStation VR on August 28th, and can be pre-ordered right now for the discounted price of $25.49.
