Chaotic party game Headsnatchers heads to Steam Early Access on July 10

A good party game can let you get to know your co-workers in ways that you never could otherwise. At my job, we held a Tricky Towers tournament a couple of years ago (with brackets and everything), and for a time, work was much less work-like. Suddenly, people who had previously been quiet were revealed to be swearing pirates, and folks from different departments who had never spoken were chatting in the hallways. It was nice. We still break out the PS4 on occasion for rounds of Overcooked and Towerfall, and while Headsnatchers is releasing on Steam initially, it looks like it will make a welcome addition to our lunchtime gaming marathons.

Headsnatchers is “a stupidly hectic up-to-4-player local and online multiplayer party-game where you snatch your friends’ heads to come out victorious. Because, let’s face it, you’ll do anything to win.” Basically, four players run various gauntlets, and messing up will cause a players’ head to pop off. Competitors can then snatch up their errant opponents head and pop it onto their own headless body. This all sounds like a recipe for some lunchtime-videogame-match screaming.

The folks at Iceburg Interactive released the video above to demonstrate the “Russian Roulette” game mode, in which players are randomly tossed into different boards and modes. If you are at all curious, this video gives you a far better idea of what Headsnatchers is all about than any screenshot or description.

Headsnatchers is heading to Steam Early Access on July 10th. You can check out more info on the game here.
