Chasm pokes its head out of the abyss

More On: Chasm

After making a splash a demo back in 2014 and launching a successful Kickstarter campaign, the team behind PS4 procedurally generated side-scroller Chasm went dark. The team was so quiet for so long that many fans figured the game had disappeared for good, lost to the dark place where unfinished indie games languish.

However, the Bit Kid Inc. team reemerged from the shadows yesterday with a blog post on the PlayStation Blog. In the post, Bit Kit founder James Petruzzi announced that a) the game is real, b) the game is about finished, c) the game is looking pretty good for release this summer, and d) the game will be crossbuy with PS Vita (hooray).

The team released a new trailer, and offered explanations for what took so long to finalize the game. Turns out that making games is time consuming and hard!

The Chasm team is also considering a physical release, but details on that are still a little sketchy. I will keep on eye out, and will bring more details as Chasm moves closer to release. Until then, enjoy the brief but fun trailer.
