Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes coming exclusively to Switch in 2018

More On: Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes

During the somewhat embarrassing Nintendo Switch showcase back in January, Suda51 came out on stage to announce that his studio, Grasshopper Manufacture, was working on a third No More Heroes game for Switch. Now that game has been announced--Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes--and it's going to be a Switch exclusive in 2018.

The premise is just as nuts at the previous two games. An assassin known as The Bat is out for Travis Touchdown's blood, after the legendary otaku-turned-hitman killed his daughter, Bad Girl, back in the original No More Heroes. However, as they are locked in mortal struggle, Travis and The Bat get sucked into a demonic game console, where they must fight their way through six games to escape. Supposedly, several famous indie studios will be contributing their properties and talents to these six games.

I thought No More Heroes and its sequel, Desperate Struggle, were some of the best unappreciated gems on the original Wii. Their sense of style and humor could be insane and obtuse sometimes, but the arcade style combat was addictive, challenging and obscenely, comically violent. I'm glad Travis Touchdown gets at least one more game, and I'm especially excited that I'll be able to take it anywhere on my Switch.
