Fire Pro Wrestling is, in my opinion, the greatest professional wrestling series in history and Fire Pro Wrestling R on the PS2 is the greatest wrestling game ever made. The series first started in the late 80's and the latest entry in the series that was released in North America, Fire Pro Wrestling R was released back in 2007 on the PS2. The crappy Fire Pro Wrestling game on Xbox Live Arcade doesn't count.
Unfortunately the series has been on hiatus since then, but our wrestling prayers may be answered soon as Spike Chunsoft has released a teaser video on their Youtube page. A website has shown up as well displaying said video but also shows a wrestling ring in the background. Clicking the Twitter link on their site links to a new Twitter page called "sc_prowrestling" and has the same video, but also also says "3/2 in San Francisco" which would be the Game Developers Conference, GDC this week.
Now I don't want to get my hopes up and I really hope this doesn't end up being some kind of lame free to play mobile game, but with how stale the WWE 2K games have gotten as of late, it is going to be so refreshing to have another wrestling game to play.
