There be aliens in Elite Dangerous

While rumored for a while now, players have now had their first encounter with an alien in Elite: Dangerous. 

The aliens are called Thargoids and from the video, you can see it's a pretty massive ship that cuts off all power to the player's spaceship.

Why they are here and if they are dangerous is yet to be seen, but man that's a pretty cool event. I like it when developers put things like this in and hopefully, Frontier Developments has some big plans for these guys.
