Retro-Bit Generations gets a launch trailer

More On: Retro-Bit Generations

This holiday season classic gaming is in vogue with a number of old-school options and the Retro-Bit Generations is no exception. The console comes loaded with over 100 classic titles including Gun.Smoke, Bionic Commando and Super Ghouls n' Ghosts. It comes packed with two Sega Genesis-style 6 button USB controllers and the console outputs all its games in HD.

Clearly Retro-Bit's offering is meant to challenge Nintendo's NES Classic Mini and to a lesser extent the rather lackluster AtGames Sega Genesis. The Retro-Bit Generations retails for the same price as the NES Mini, $59.99, but has an SD card slot ostensibly for game saves. Whether this allows the Generations to get updated with more games in the future--a feature the NES Mini sorely lacks--remains to be seen. In any case, hopefully the controller cables are a lot longer than the NES Mini's paltry 30 inch cable.
