Home versions of Star Wars: Battle Pod aren’t as accessible as you think

More On: Star Wars Battle Pod

I’m sure that you have heard about Star Wars: Battle Pod by now. It has been a really long time since an arcade release has gotten the sort of exposure and coverage that Bandai Namco’s shooter did when it launched a few months back. The developer announced recently that they are bringing the game home to gamers. However, this announcement isn’t exactly filled with the “home version” details that you would expect.

No, the game isn’t coming to either Xbox system or any of the Sony consoles. Instead, Bandai Namco isset to offer the cabinet to consumers beginning June 18, in both regular and collector’s editions. The standard version will only set you back a cool $35,000. The collector’s edition though, which is available with either a Darth Vader or a Rebel theme, clock in at a ridiculous $100,000. That is a lot of dough, even for an arcade game! It is a pretty unique cabinet though, complete with a carpeted interior, bound instruction manual, and each one is individually numbered and includes a mounted plate bearing the owner’s name.

If you, or anyone that you know picks one up, make sure to invite the Gaming Nexus staff over for a game night or two!
