Harmonix announces a release date for that game your forgot you wanted

by: Jeff -
More On: Fantasia: Music Evolved

A lot has happened since last year's E3. The Xbone and PS4 were nothing but fervent promises and teaser trailers a year ago, but now they exist in all of their plasticated glory in living rooms all over America. We've already gotten our hands on most of the fruit from last year's E3- Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, Dark Souls II, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, and Watch_Dogs, just to name a few. The indie scene has continued to explode with developers and titles seeming to crawl out of the woodwork. Empires have risen to the height of power and shaken their fists to the heavens as if to say "Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair!" before crumbling into forgotten piles of ash and bone. Anyway, it's been a long year, is what I'm saying.

You might remember an announcement last year that Disney and Harmonix were working together to make a interactive successor to Disney's Fantasia called Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved, that looked to be heavily influenced by Dance Central. Now, just in time for this year's E3, they've finally announced that Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved will be available for the Xbox One and Kinect for the Xbox 360 on October 21, 2014.

To get you excited all over again, Disney and Harmonix have released a new trailer as well as some screen shots and concept art. The concept art gives you more of an idea of The Neighborhood area that's featured in the trailer, as well as a new character named Scout that'll act as your guide and master of ceremonies throughout the game. Does anybody else think that she looks like Lil T from Dance Central 2?

I'm going to be honest, I'd completely forgotten about this game. But after watching this trailer, I might have to pick it up come October. Plus, the track list is nothing to sneeze at; especially if you're a fan of eclectic mixes that feature Drake right next to Tchaikovsky. You can see the full list of announced tracks after the jump.

Depeche Mode- "Enjoy the Silence
