The official website for Tropico 3 is now online and waiting to dish information on the upcoming dictator simulator. The site features the usual array of community forums, screenshots, and videos. I'm disappointed there's not a developer diary told from the perspective of the dictator but that's just me.

BALTIMORE, MD, September 22, 2009 – In the interest of full disclosure, El Presidente and Kalypso Media today removed the constraints of the limited Tropico 3 teaser site and launched the full featured official game site. No longer will those interested in the bananna republic be deprived of new information and assets, as the new official site has made all general information, screenshots, trailers and demo available in one easy to access location.
Developed by Haemimont Games, Tropico 3 brings the series back to its roots and puts players in the role of ‘El Presidente’, the two-bit dictator of a strategically positioned banana republic in the Caribbean during the time of the Cold War. Players assume control of every aspect of island life, deciding whether to unleash the army to secure their power base or lead their people to prosperity as a generous elder statesman. Will absolute power corrupt, or will the humanitarian approach spur progress? Find out this October as gamers become part of the political machinations of Tropico as they determine the fate of this island nation.
