In a "really not that surprising given their relationship" move,
Take-Two Interactive has purchased Firaxis games (Civilization series,
Sid Meir's Pirates and several others). Firaxis and 2K Games had
already been working together on the marketing for Pirates and Civilization IV so this seems to be a natural consummation of that relationship.

November 7, 2005 – Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTWO)
today announced the acquisition of Firaxis GamesÂ, one of the world’s premier
game development studios. Firaxis Games joins the 2K Games publishing label of
Take-Two Interactive.
