Just heard today from our buddy Alex Armour that Sammy Studios has downsized its entire marketing department, leaving Armour without a job. This comes as surprising news considering that Sammy makes a boatload of money overseas off its Pachinko machines, enough to buy a significant portion of SEGA.
The hardest hit office was in Century City, Calif. (near Los Angeles) as the US branch of the company was doing poorer than expected. We're saddened to hear about the layoffs, especially at a time when gaming companies are making more money than ever. It seems like the greed factor has taken over the humanity factor in recent months (coughEAcough).
