Rock Band DLC features memorable rock tracks from Creedence Clearwater Revival

Undoubtedly to make up for the shame of introducing DLC containing Miley Cyrus and Nickelback from the past two weeks’ releases, Harmonix and MTV Games decided it was time to return the rock to Rock Band.

This week’s entire pack is dedicated to Creedence Clearwater Revival, featuring 11 new tracks and the return of “Fortunate Son,” which has been available to download since 2007. The full list of classic CCR tracks that are sure to set you into nostalgia and a rocking out mood in this pack include:

Cambridge, Mass. – July 2, 2010 – Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that American rockers Creedence Clearwater Revival will make their Rock Band debut next week in the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™.

With more than 400 artists, including Jimi Hendrix, The Who, AC/DC and Green Day, who are exclusive to Rock Band, as well as more than 1,500 songs available through the Rock Band platform and 70 million songs sold through its download store alone, Rock Band is the undisputed sales and content leader in the interactive music space, providing the deepest and best selection of artists, songs and albums.

In the short years that Creedence Clearwater Revival were active, the band, composed of John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford, racked up quite an array of hit singles, and now fans of the roots rock band will be able to play those songs in Rock Band.
Although the band is known for their southern rock sound, CCR actually formed in the San Francisco area in the late 60s. The band went on to sell 26 million albums in the United States alone, before disbanding in 1972, and was inducted into the U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. “Creedence Clearwater Revival Pack 01” will feature 12 of the bands biggest hits, available next week in the Rock Band Music Store.
