Ready at Dawn Studios is working on a software suite for video game developers packed with all the features they need while integrating all aspects of the project. Think of this software packaged as a Snickers bar; peanuts, caramel, and nugget all contained in a yummy chocolate shell. The name of this delicious development tool is Ready at Dawn Engine and it is now Jonathan Nagel's job as Sales and Marketing director to package it and sell it to developers. I took a look at some of the information R@D has posted online about the engine. It sounds like a nice bundle but since it's new and doesn't have as much clout as, say, the Unreal engine it will probably be picked up by smaller and independent developers. Prove me wrong Mr. Nagel.

Dec. 10, 2009 – Irvine, Calif. – Acclaimed independent console game developer, Ready At Dawn Studios, has brought on seasoned sales vet, Jonathan Nagel, to helm sales and marketing for the studio’s recently announced game development platform.  Previously Senior Account Manager for North America and Europe at Scaleform, Nagel will build a division that will offer tailored evaluations of each project’s needs, simple licensing models, world-class support, and the studio’s core value of a no-nonsense approach.

Nagel comes to Ready At Dawn Studios from Scaleform where he held responsibility for sales in North America, and previously, from Engenuity Technologies and Anark Corporation.  He brings with him years of enterprise sales, with experience ranging from Fortune 500 companies to the top publishers and development studios for video games.  He has served video game clients such as Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Sony, Midway, THQ, Activision, Namco Bandai, Sega, Warner Bros, Eidos, Ubisoft, Foundation 9 Entertainment, Vivendi Games, LucasArts, Konami, BioWare Corp, Kaos Studios, Insomniac Games, Zipper Interactive, Turn 10 Studios, Lionhead Studios, High Moon Studios, Swordfish Studios and Nihilistic Software.
