I just got my first Legendary God in SMITE and it was one of the most rewarding gaming experiences I have ever had

Months of hard gameplay and dedication have finally paid off. I just achieved Legendary status with my first God in SMITE and it feels so damn good.

For those unaware, in SMITE, winning and losing matches will earn you worshipers towards the God you played. At 50 worshipers, you achieve rank 1 status. To reach rank 10 and achieve Legendary status for that god, you need 1000 worshipers. The reason this is so satisfying is because it takes quite a while to rank up. Depending on how long matches go, and whether or not you won, you may get anywhere from 2-15 worshipers per match. I think the most I ever got for a single match was 20 but that match went almost an hour long. Provided you own the Golden skin, reaching Legendary status unlocks a special Legendary skin for that god as well.

Freya was one of the first Gods in the game that I really enjoyed when I started playing in July of last year. She is classified as a Mage but has both melee and ranged attacks which makes her a great jungler as well.

SMITE is one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played in the life and have over 1000 hours and games under my belt so far. The grind to a Legendary God may be a long process, but the game is so much fun that I cannot wait to get started on ranking up more gods. I have completed many videogames in my life and have many enjoyable and rewarding experiences but this is something that will probably rank up at the top of the list. This is a moment I will remember for a long time.

One god down, 49 to go!

SMITE will launch at the end of the month and Hi-Rez will be holding a $185,000 tournament that weekend to celebrate. Fans have been adding money to the official prize pool over the last month or so and there is a very good chance it could get up to $200,000!

Be sure to check out my review of SMITE when it officially launches on March 25th.
