Now, the Supreme Commander 2 for the PC will be available on March 2, 2010 while the 360 version follows a few weeks later at March 16, 2010.

Supreme Commander 2 is a real time strategy game that's set 25 years after the first one. What's good about the series is the scope of having large battles with a large amount of troops on hand to command. This is the first one that Square's publishing as they look to branch out into other genres.

Unite and play with Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

by: John Yan
NEWS - One of the cooler things that's just been released is adhocParty for the PSP system. This will let owners of PSP and PlayStation 3 systems use the PS3 to bridge a connection to other PSP players and play some online games over the Internet. Capcom's Monster Hunger Freedom Unite is one of the first games to take advantage of this.

Just download a free app from the PlayStation Store and you're good to go. You can even do voice chatting which is pretty slick. I don't own a PSP, but I hear great things about Monster Hunter and this just be the game that makes me pick it up. Since I own a PSP, having the ability to play online from anywhere in the house will make it even that much better.

NFS SHIFT: red versus blue

by: Tina Amini
NEWS - Take a look at the new video showcasing team racing in Need for Speed SHIFT as well as a look into some of the cars.
If you just want to link up with a buddy and play some games, it's not going to cost you $50 a year. Well, Sony's got some revenue coming in from store purchases and so forth but they are looking to put out subscription based services as well.

As for what, nothing's been released yet but I'm interested to hear what they have in store. If, as the article suggests, that there could be a Gamefly like service for the PSN, then you have my interest peaked. What things would get you to pay for a subscription on the PS3?

Beam me up on January 12th

by: John Yan
NEWS - Those wanting to beta test Star Trek Online can finally do so as Cryptic has unveiled that the play dates for the game will be January 12th to January 26th. If you want a key, it's on a first come first serve basis and will be given at the website. It actually does look pretty good to me so I'm going to try and get in and see how it all is. Now we know you can launch a nuke if you get a high enough killstreak in the game but how about a game centered around capturing and launching one? Here's video of Global thermonuclear war and how this might play out if Infinity Ward releases this to the masses. It takes a long time to capture the nuke but I'm guessing more people around it will make it capture faster.
On the surface, it appears that Apple could be looking for someone to continue to design and build more in-house Apps for the iPhone OS. However, when perusing the skills that skills that Apple is looking for, the list includes:

• -3-4 years of video game development experience, shipped at least one AAA title,
The movie rights to Dark Void, to be published by Capcom, have been sold to the production Plan B Entertainment. The game hasn't been released yet and Capcom is already bragging about the first stages of a movie that may or may not be made (I'm looking at you Halo). Even more surprising is the hint that, since Brad Pitt is the owner of Plan B Entertainment, Mr. Pitt is the potential lead for the flick. Never mind the fact that the game wasn't developed with Mr. Pitt's likeness and voice in mind. The solution? If Brad Pitt does star in the movie adaptation he would have to wear that ridiculous helmet for the duration of the film.
BioWare announced today that we will be able to revisit the dark scene with the upcoming DLC, Return to Ostagar. Quests leading us back to the site will hopefully allow us to avenge Kind Cailan’s brutal death by searching out his armor and arms. Even if you've never picked up a comic book to save your life you might recognize Mr. Madureira's art in the NCSoft game Dungeon Runners.

Personally I like the ability to customize the weapons in the game more than the random drops that you get in Borderlands. Sure there's probably not a gun that sets people on fire in Army of Two:The 40th Day but the system allows you to get more comfortable with your weapons rather than having to constantly compare what you have to what you just picked up. What do you think? Would you rather have random drops or the ability to customize your weapons? Let us know in the comments.

News Roundup: Bad napkin things

by: Nathan Murray
NEWS -
Check out this just announced Asus Eee PC 1201N. This sucker features a dual core Intel Atom processor running at 1.6GHz with up to 3GB of ram and a 12.1" screen.

Powered by the NVIDIA ION graphics components, this puppy can output HD video and with the new Flash release, you can watch HD online videos without seeing the stutter on other netbooks. Up to 320GB of hard drive space and 6-cell battery that should last around 5 hours will give you enough space and time to do all your work on the go.

The netbook should be out in mid-December for around $500, which is cheaper than the HP i spec'ed out with less features and a smaller screen. I'm hoping it will be released in time for me to order and be here before CES rolls around. Or, Asus if you're out there, just have one ready for me to pick up at your booth.

12.1-inch LED-backlit WXGA screen (1366 x 768)

Genuine Windows 7

Intel Atom 330 Dual Core processor

NVIDIA ION Graphics

DDR2 SO-DIMM 2GB/3GB

250GB HDD/320GB + 500GB* ASUS WebStorage

802.11b/g/n @2.4GHz, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR

Hi-Definition Audio CODEC

In the Dark Carnival campaign, there are some references to the band Midnight Riders and wouldn't you know it, a teaser site for the group is already up. Now, not much is known but seeing as there are four members, how cool would it be to play a short Crash Course like campaign of these four making their escape from the zombie hordes with all new weapons?

Looks like Francis has some folks he can relate to.
