More bugs gets introduced with the new Battlefield 4 patch

by: John - - Add a Comment

Battlefield 4 was patched up a few days ago and I popped into the game for the first time since then. What you see below is a few minutes into my first match since the patch and I've already ran into this bug a few times. It seems no matter what DICE does, they keep putting out patches that causes new issues.

For this one, you can see the person who killed me is highlighting a teammate of mine though the name is right on who really fired the kill shot. Oh, that 0HP bug is back again, which I thought was squashed previously. Sigh....

New LEGO The Hobbit Trailer spoofs buddy-up heist flicks

by: Cary - - Add a Comment

The latest trailer for LEGO The Hobbit takes a humorous look at the team you'll have assembled to go on your quest. In true LEGO game fashion there are plenty of jokes goofing on each character's adventurer genre tropes as well as some plain old slapstick. Check out the trailer below and wonder with me what the Italian Job or Ocean's 11(or 12 or 13) might look like with Middle Earth casting.

Call of Duty Ghosts will release its second DLC pack on April 3rd

by: Nathan - - Add a Comment

More Call of Duty Ghosts content is an on the way, and as you would expect, Xbox gamers get it first. Sorry Playstation gamers, I think it's stupid also. Anyways, April 3rd will see the release of Devastation, the second of four DLC packs for Call of Duty Ghosts. Devastation will cost you $14.99 or will be free if you bought the seasons pass.

The Devastation DLC pack will launch with the following content. Four new Multiplayer maps, a new gun and a new episode for Extinction mode.

  • Ruins - Located on a Mexican peninsula and takes place in the remains of a Mayan Temple in the mountain tops. The Field Order Killstreak will allow players to trigger a volcanic explosion that will send fiery debris onto the battlefield, killing anyone in its path.
  • Collision - Takes place in the mangled debris of a container chip which has crashed into a New York bridge. It's a small map that is great for those who like to run and gun. The Field Order Killstreak will allow players to take control of a armed aircraft and rain down hell from above on unsuspecting enemies.
  • Behemoth - Takes place in the air on a giant excavation platform in South America. Pretty much, you are fighting on a gigantic saw. The Field Order Killstreak will allow you to take control of an attack helicopter armed with an armor-piercing Rail gun.
  • Unearthed - A reimagined version of "Dome" from Modern Warfare 3. This new version however contains a couple of secrets. The Field Order Killstreak will allow you to spawn aliens from Extinction mode to seek out and kill enemies. You can also unlock a secret alien weapon in the map as well. How do you unlock it? Infinity Ward isn't saying but I'm sure it won't be long before the community finds out.
  • The Ripper - a new 2-in-1 SMG/Assault Rifle that can be used in the Multiplayer maps. The gun can quickly switch from and SMG to an Assault Rifle on the fly which is deal for a variety of maps and tactics.
  • Extinction Episode 2: Mayday - The second episode of the Extinction saga takes place in the Alaskan wilderness at a research facility. Players will also come up against a new alien species referred to as the "Seeder" and go head-to-head against the 100-foot tall Kraken.

Pixel Junk Shooter becomes the Ultimate game... literally

by: Jeremy - - Add a Comment

Double Eleven continues to bring Q Games classic series to life again with updated releases on a variety of Sony’s platforms. This time around, they are taking a crack at the oh-so-awesome Pixel Junk Shooter saga. The developer has announced Pixel Junk Shooter Ultimate for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, due later this coming Summer.

PJS Ultimate is a combination of both PJS and PJS2 along with a variety of new and improved features. First off, the campaigns of both games have been combined into one, non-stop adventure, where you can utilize all of the various updated maneuvers and abilities across all chapters. The game is also including Cross-Play and Cross-save capabilities, an improved (balanced0 scoring system, revised HUD, and an improved look for the player’s ship.

Pixel Junk’s shooter games have been amongst my favorite in the PJ saga and even though I have played both countless times before on my PS3, I won’t hesitate to pick the new version up to play on the go on my Vita.

Watch Dogs comes out May 27th

by: John - - Add a Comment

Finally, we have a release date for Watch Dogs. The often delayed, highly anticipated title from Ubisoft will be on the store shelves May 27th, 2014. That's about two and a half months away.

Watch Dogs is hitting all of the current and previous gen platforms with the exception of the Wii and the Wii U version is delayed until who knows when. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii U version gets cancelled outright, but hopefully they do make it for the Nintendo console.

Below is the story trailer for the game. We can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and as long as there are no more delays, (crosses fingers) we'll all be hacking with our cell phones come May 27th.

SOMA teases a little bit more

by: John - - Add a Comment

Not much is known about the new horror survival game coming from the makers of Amnesia, but what Frictional Games has put out is rather creepy.

Today they released another environment trailer for SOMA, but this time we get some voice over of some scientists talking to each other. It seems there's some experiment going on that is causing many people to kill themselves. No reason why yet, but one of the scientists says she is so close.

SOMA is due out on the PC and PlayStation 4 sometime next year.

Arkham Knight's release date on Gamestop with bonus info

by: John - - Add a Comment

While the announcement of Batman: Arkham Knight yesterday didn't bring forth a release date, Gamestop seems to have one. In their pre-order page, they list October 14th as the game's release date, which seems pretty reasonable to me considering the history of the franchise's releases.

Also, if you pre-order the game, you'll get to play as Harley Quinn in four challenge maps. The look of Harley has changed quite a bit from the first game, something that I'm still getting used to.

Oh, you'll also get a nice little Batman poster with some comic covers celebrating 75 years of Batman.

PlayStation 4 hits 6 million units sold

by: Chuck - - Add a Comment

PlayStation 4 sales continue to be hot as Sony has reported that they have now sold 6 million units worldwide.  Given that they've moved that many units in four months is a pretty impressive feat and it shows how well Sony has been able to get early adopters to come out in droves for the system.  For those keeping track at home this number dwarfs the 4 million Xbox One units that Microsoft has moved worldwide.

The other impressive bit is that PS4 software sales have sold 13.7 million units giving the system a semi-respectable software attach rate of 2.28.  It doesn't say if that includes games that you get for free with a PlayStation Plus subscription but those are still decent numbers for a launch system.

Things will continue to get better for PS4 owners as Infamous: Second Son will be available later this month.

Rocksteady will finish the Arkham series with Batman: Arkham Knight

by: John - - Add a Comment

Let's just kind of ignore Batman: Arkham Origins from now on as the game has had many issues and the way Warner Bros' Montreal is dealing with bug fixes is atrocious. Let's focus on what Rocksteady has coming up and that's the final Batman game in the Arkham series.

Batman: Arkham Knight is the next game from Rocksteady and we have all the familiar players back, including Kevin Conroy voicing the titular character. The main baddy this time around is Scarecrow, with the events of Arkham City necessitating a new head villain to tangle with.

Of course, you won't just be fighting Scarecrow as many of Batman's rogue's gallery will make their appearance in the game to try and take you down.

The environment will also be much larger and you'll finally be able to drive around in the Batmobile, something I've longed for since the first game. Below is the announcement trailer and I hope that Rocksteady can turn around the franchise given the bad press that Origins produced. Rocksteady, don't fail us.

Batman: Arkham Knight is due out on the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 sometime later this year. You can get some more information at Game Informer.

Cel Damage getting an HD remake for Sony systems

by: Sam - - Add a Comment

Do you remember Cel Damage? It was a Twisted Metal-esque battle racing game that released in 2001 for the GameCube, PS2, and Xbox. The reception for the game wasn't very positive, but I remember having a lot of fun playing splitscreen with friends, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Lucky for me and anyone else who remembers this game, Finish Line Games has announced an HD remake of Cel Damage for Sony systems that will release in April. It be cross buy across all three of Sony's current systems, and will have four player splitscreen on the console versions. No price has been mentioned yet.

The game's cartoony graphics will likely hold up very well in HD, but I don't know if I feel as confident about the gameplay. I hope it stands the test of time, and I'm looking forward to playing this game with friends again.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes gets price cut after play time concerns

by: Sam - - Add a Comment

Earlier this month it was revealed that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes was a very short game, apparently only taking about two hours to complete the main story. This angered many fans who felt like they were paying for a glorified demo, but it was even more frustrating for fans looking forward to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game which cost $39.99 ($10 more than their previous generation counterparts). In a last minute show of goodwill toward their fans, Konami has decided to price cut the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game to bring them in line with the previous gen, and even price cut the digital version of Ground Zeroes on Xbox 360 and PS3 $10 as well (down to $19.99). This will no doubt satisfy some of the angered fans, but I don't know if $10 is enough to appease them all.

To me this change is a no brainer. Personally, I was looking forward to getting Ground Zeroes on my PS4 until I learned about the $40 price tag. I was ready to concede and grab the PS3 version instead, but now I can grab it on my new system guilt free (and I will finally have something to play on it).

Pre-order Wolfenstein: The New Order and get beta access to "Doom"

by: Nathan - - Add a Comment

Oh man, this really made my week. The original Doom is, without a doubt, my favorite videogame of all time. While I did enjoy Doom 3, It just didn't feel like a true Doom game and I have been anxiously awating the next game. Doom 4 has been teased for a while but the project was killed last year and it seemed like Doom was in limbo.

Turns out that your pre-order of Wolfenstein: The New Order will grant you beta access to "Doom". When you receive the game, an insert will put you on the mailing list. Details will be emailed to you when the beta reaches it's release. Full details on the beta program can be found on the official website

Unfortunately, no other details have been released at this time but I'm going to guess that if the game is simply called Doom, then it will probably be a reboot of the series. If they do go the reboot route, I really hope they give us a next gen Doom that plays like the originals. I want to be running through maze like levels, blowing away anything that moves while awesome rock / metal music is blasting in the background.

Lastly, a brand new trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order was released as well. Check it out below.

Get ready to go back to Wolfenstein this May

by: Matt - - Add a Comment

We've got a hands-on preview with MachineGame's reboot of the venerable first-person-shooter franchise coming next week. Ahead of that, Bethesda sends word of an official launch date for Wolfenstein: The New Order along with an additional bonus to people who pre-order and pick up the game when it launches in the US on May 20th, 2014, and throughout Europe on May 23rd, 2014. Those who pre-order Wolfenstein: The New Order will be given access to the DOOM beta that will be going live later this year.

Set in the 1960s, you are once again put in the shoes of BJ Blazkowicz as he battles against the Nazi regime that is armed with some strangely advanced technology, allowing them to win World War II. You'll fight across Europe against the global Nazi regime, in an effort to halt their machinations.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is slated for release on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. A rating from the ESRB is pending, and for more information on the game, visit: www.wolfenstein.com
