If you like Mega Man, rock, and metal, then this album might be for you

More On: Mega Man

I’m not going to lie: I was never a huge fan of metal music. Occasionally I’ll hear something that I do like, and typically it’s video game related. That being said, I recently got an opportunity to check out a new Mega Man tribute album called C-Busters: A Tribute to Megaman Classic (the tracks were provided to us for review). The album consists of fifteen tracks that are a blend of metal and rock and arranged by Thennecan and Materia Collective. The email I was sent said they had some favorites including Dr. Wily Stage 1 and 2 from Mega Man 2 and Shadow Man from Mega Man 3. Naturally I wasn't surprised that those were on the album as they're two of the more well-known tracks in the series”, but to my surprise the fifteen tracks covers most of the games in the classic series.

  • 01 Out of Necessity (Mega Man 4 Intro)
  • 02 Ruined Street (Mega Man 7 Intro Stage)
  • 03 Air Man (Mega Man 2)
  • 04 Dust Man (Mega Man 4)
  • 05 Knight Man (Mega Man 6)
  • 06 Guts Man (Mega Man 1)
  • 07 We’re The Robots (Mega Man 9 Dr. Wily Stage 2)
  • 08 Main Title (Mega Man 3)
  • 09 Metal Man (Mega Man 2)
  • 10 Solar Inferno (Mega Man 10)
  • 11 Skull Man (Mega Man 4)
  • 12 Shadow Man (Mega Man 3)
  • 13 Dr. Cossack (Mega Man 4)
  • 14 Dr. Wily (Mega Man 2)
  • 15 For Everlasting Peace (Mega Man 1)

After listening to each track in the album, I can honestly say I enjoyed each one of them (this also coming from a huge Mega Man fan). As I said before, I’m not really a fan of metal music, but I actually found myself enjoying the metal tracks in this album. Plus, they included one of my favorite tracks in the series with “We’re the Robots”, so that’s always a plus. Those interested in checking out the album can find it on Bandcamp, iTunes, and Spotify.
