Astro Gaming partners with Nintendo

Astro Gaming is bringing their audio hardware expertise to Nintendo with a multi-year partnership to produce Nintendo-branded equipment. The first of these peripherals is a special edition A40 headset in three themes: Super Mario Bros, Mario 3 and the original Legend of Zelda. Astro is also producing Nintendo speaker tags for customizing your existing Astro headsets. These products will be shown off at PAX East this weekend and will be available for Holiday 2018.

Personally I think this is a good move as it demonstrates Nintendo's dedication to third party partners and more importantly a focus on audio solutions for Switch. The platforms current nightmarish phone-app-headset abomination is one of the few major missteps with the console, so hopefully Astro's exclusive headset for Switch signals a streamlining for Switch voice chat in the works.
