This weeks Famitsu introduces the new characters of Persona 5

More On: Persona 5

Last week, Atlus pulled back the curtain on Persona 5 and introduced the world to three brand new characters, however not much was known about them, until now. Reported by Siliconera, this weeks Famitsu magazine reveals details about each character including their names, their Persona and some of the backstory.

Makoto Nijima

Persona - Johanna

  • A third-year student who attends the same high school as the protagonist. President of the student council with high morals and a strong sense of responsibility. Active and earnest, a straight-laced honor student who can’t be compromised with.

Sakura Futaba

Persona - Necronomicon

  • A young girl who is considered a programming prodigy with inhumane computing abilities. She’s the age of a first-year high school student, but on top of having difficulties in communicating with others, a certain incident has caused her to be a shut-in.

Haru Okumura

Persona - Milady

  • A third-year high school student and daughter of the president of a big food service manufacturer. Refined but seen little of life, but unlike Sakura, Haru has watched a lot of people and has gained high communication skills.

Reading all of this is just getting me more and more hyped. I think I am going to keep Makoto in my party most of the game because her Persona being a motorcycle is one of the most badass things I have ever seen in one of these games. The one thing I really want to learn about is how the Social Link system may be changing.

Here is last weeks trailer again courtesy of Youtube user Wyte Song, but this time the trailer has the dialogue and the UI translated in English.

Persona 5 launches in Japan on September 15th. No word yet on an Western release date but Atlus have confirmed that they along with Persona 5 will make an appearance at E3 this year. My guess is that they will show up at the Sony press conference and announce the North American release date then, but that is simply speculation on my part.
