The Elder Scrolls Online from developer ZeniMax Online Studios released just last year to which it mostly received a good response, but there were a few issues that held it back from justifying the monthly subscription cost. Today the game transitions to The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited version which completely removes the monthly subscription cost in favor of a single game purchase of $60.
Previous owners of the game will automatically receive the new version without having to buy another copy. After that, the game functions in similar nature to free-to-play games with an in-game store for purchasing premium items as well as the option to still subscribe every month for various perks.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
