Ultra Street Fighter IV is going Omega for free

More On: Ultra Street Fighter IV

As much as I love Street Fighter IV, I've never been too keen on the idea of shelling out $20 or $30 for a new edition of the game nearly every year just to keep up, especially given we've had four major versions of the game in just over five years.  Well Capcom has decided to throw some more changes at us in Ultra Street Fighter IV in the form of a new Omega Mode that was recently shown off at the recent Tokyo Game Show, but this is a bit different.  Not only will the DLC be free when released later this year, but it's entirely optional to use when playing.

What Omega Mode does is add some new and crazy moves and changes to all 44 characters, such as Ken shooting out fireballs from a kick special move, Guile throwing out multiple Sonic Booms, and Dhalsim now having a move that pulls his opponent towards him a bit.  However, don't think it's all or nothing where you either have to have everyone use Omega Mode or nobody does, as Omega Mode will be a new option under Edition Select when you choose your character, so for anyone who plays in tournaments, I'm guessing Omega Mode won't be allowed.
