Point and click adventuring is quite the rage again. I'm not sure if it's the connection for older gamers to their times gone past, or the ease of developers to make a complex game with simple enough controls for the tablet/cell based "gaming on the go" world we live in now. Probably a mix of both. Either way it's a good thing as it lets developers focus on storytelling and enjoyment instead of complex control schemes.

AR-K Chapter 2: The Girl Who Wasn't There will release next week. I'm going to review it, and as I haven't played Chapter 1 yet, I'm going to play that too. If you have played Chapter 1, and already know you want Chapter 2, now is the time, as you can save a couple bucks buying it early. And if you're on the fence about buying, I'll be able to nudge you in one direction or the other next week sometime.

LOS ANGELES, CA, July 14, 2014 – Gato Salvaje Studio, an enthusiastic and dedicated videogame developer located in Spain, is electrified to announce today that their crowd-funded classic point-and-click adventure game AR-K -Chapter 2: The Girl Who Wasn’t There-, the sequel to AR-K -Chapter 1- on iOS, Android, PC and Mac, is now available for pre-sale on Steam® worldwide for $7.99! AR-K –Chapter 2- will be released on July 21 on Steam for the special price of $7.99 during its initial week of sales, after which the regular price will be $9.99.

In celebration of the Chapter 2 release, Gato Salvaje Studio has re-mastered Chapter 1 with even more seamless animation and the addition of lively, newly voiced characters. Chapter 1 will also be offered for the same price as Chapter 2 beginning July 21. Following its predecessor, the AR-K series will also be released for Desura, Gamersgate, the Windows Store, and the App Mac Store.

Developed with the powerful Unity 3D graphic engine, AR-K will have players taking on the role of former policewoman and current journalism student Alicia in a showcase of splendid 3D graphics and animation. AR-K's episodic story will be told over 4 chapters, each of which will be released on Steam and the aforementioned platforms throughout the year. Although each chapter builds upon the previous events, adding more layers of suspense, humor, romance, and satire, they can also be played individually. AR-K is a classic-style point-and-click adventure game with attention-grabbing writing and challenging puzzles that open up the doors to an even more fascinating world filled with mystery, humor and suspense.

STORY

AR-K tells the story of Alice, former cop turned journalist, who wakes up one morning with a massive hangover. It is obvious that she was out drinking the night before, but she has no idea how much she had. The only thing she can (barely) remember is a one-night stand with an unknown man, though she cannot even be sure if that happened. She then learns about a mysterious Golden Sphere, an object that seems to be the key to discovering what happened...
