Yes, DJ Hero
has multiplayer but unless you had a friend who picked up the entire bundle come to your house, there was no way to play against another on the same screen. Now, you can as you can pick up a turntable controller on its own from the Guitar Hero store
for $70. That's $70 for any of the console variants.
I played the multiplayer online and thought it was OK. There wasn't anything special as you two just played the same track to see who scored the highest. I'm hoping that the next version of the game we'll see more variety when playing against another person but the first DJ Hero
game doesn't have anything different when you throw another person in on a turntable. I wonder if a third party company will come out with a turntable controller though.

With DJ competitions playing a large role in DJ culture, the inclusion of a DJ vs. DJ competitive mode in DJ Hero was a natural fit.
In the game’s multiplayer modes, two DJs can mix and scratch together on multiple turntable controllers; or using a Guitar Hero guitar controller along with a turntable controller, gamers can perform a series of infamous DJ-guitar exclusive mixes, just as many of the artists in DJ Hero have. Additionally, another player can join in at any time with a mic to emcee over any track in the game.
