Tournament Finals Three-Day Festival to Begin June 19 at www.xfire.com/stride


MENLO PARK, CA (June 18, 2007) - Xfire, a division of Viacom Inc.'s (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B) MTV Networks, today announced the final two teams competing in the championship match of "The Ridiculously Long Lasting Stride Xfire Cup 2007," an online Counter-Strike: Source invitational tournament bringing together the best North American teams to compete for $24,000 in winnings.  A three-day festival of free Xfire online community events leads up to the final match between Jax Money Crew and compLexity on June 21 for a prize of $12,000; with the third place match between Team 3D and EG taking place on June 20, for a prize of $3,000. The first of its kind tournament is sponsored by Stride® - The Ridiculously Long Lasting Gum®.

"Stride and Xfire have put together three days full of gaming events and activities including live broadcasts, gaming with pros, celebrity chats, prize giveaways and more to celebrate the culmination of 'The Ridiculously Long Lasting Stride Xfire Cup 2007' invitational tournament.  Never before has such an offering been available to gamers for free," said Frederic Descamps, Senior Director of Marketing and Business Development, Xfire.  "Needless to say, we can't wait for the Stride Cup 2007 Finals Festival to begin!"

The "Stride Xfire Cup 2007" finals festival begins June 19 and concludes on June 21, the longest day of the year. Kicking off with a World of Warcraft "Xfire Debate Club," festivities include a "Ridiculously Long Lasting Gaming Event," where gamers will have the opportunity to play pick-up games with the professional teams and win thousands of dollars in prizes including a year's supply of Stride gum, hardware, games or even their very own private lessons with the pros; a live on-line chat with Jeremy of "Pure Pwnage, the mockumentary series that chronicles the adventures of the self-proclaimed pro gamer; and pre-game and post-game interviews with the participating teams.

Selected by Xfire community members and representatives from Electronic Sports League, GameTrailers.com, GotFrag.com, MeetYourMakers.com and Spike TV's "Game Head," the tournament started with eight professional gaming teams including compLexity, EFG, EG, Hyper, Jax Money Crew, Team3D, Verge and Check Six.  The competition narrowed to four remaining teams - compLexity, Jax Money Crew, Team3D and EG - who have been competing for the past three months to qualify for the championship match.
