World of Tanks Update 8.5 is live w/ accompanying trailer, screens, and renders

More On: World of Tanks
So I mentioned once or twice before that as much as I want to play World of Tanks, my PC just will not comply.  Even after a recent PC upgrade, it's still a no-go.  It's all invalid folders and critical installation failures.  Even my "guy I know who is good with computers" is at a loss - and he's very good with computers.  Whatever, I'll just continue to play World of Tanks vicariously through these semi-regular updates that I write about.

Anyway, Update 8.5 which I touched on earlier this month has now gone live.  Here's a quick rundown of the goodies you get with Update 8.5: updated German tech tree including Teir X Leopard 1, three new light tanks for the Soviet tech tree, the ability to purchase all premium consumables with credits earned in-game, all players can now create 3-member platoons and companies, and finally there's a new battle arena called Pearl River along with new visuals on Siegfried Line, South Coast, and Malinovka.

Now on to the good stuff:

Wargaming Releases Update 8.5 for World of Tanks

New German and Soviet vehicles will join the game, premium features will become available to non-paying players

24th April, 2013 - Wargaming, the leading free-to-play developer and publisher, today announced the release of Update 8.5 for its award-winning World of Tanks free-to-play action MMO. This newest update further expands the tank rosters for both Germany and the USSR, as well as introduces new premium feature options for non-paying players. Update 8.5 will release on April 24th in Europe, April 25th in Southeast Asia and the United States, and May 7th in South Korea.

The German tech tree will be updated with new, powerful medium tanks, including the legendary Tier X Leopard 1, while the Soviet tree will be strengthened with three new light tanks.

Also of note in Update 8.5, players will now be able to purchase all premium consumables with credits. Previously, premium consumables were only purchasable with gold, the in-game currency purchased with real-world money. In addition, all players, both paying and non-paying, will be able to create 3-member platoons and companies.

Update 8.5 is further rounded out with the introduction of a new battle arena, Pearl River, as well as visual revamps of the Siegfried Line, South Coast, and Malinovka maps.
