100 dancers will be included in the next
Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition thanks to a event hosted by FOX and the team that runs so "So You Think You Can Dance?". The group of 100 danced for just under 10 minutes in LA's Nokia theater setting the record for the world's largest simultaneous dance mat routine. One lucky person walked away with a bunch of prizes (seriously their press release is so freaking vague) while the rest went to their house to attempt the world's second largest dance mat routine. Unfortunately more than one person got lost, hungry, or had to urinate effectively crippling the attempt.

Largest Simultaneous Dance Mat Routine in L.A.
100 Dancing Gamers Attend the "So You Think You Can Dance" Record-Breaking Event at L.A.'s Nokia Theatre
100 people grabbed their dancing shoes, felt the beat, and set a Guinness World Record™ for the "Largest Simultaneous Dance Mat Routine" last night at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA on May 19, 2008. The record-breaking event, hosted by the folks from "So You Think You Can Dance," used dance pads from one of the most popular dance video games of all time, Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2, along with a large-screen television, to establish the new record. The group danced to "Funky House" by DJ Diod and "Progressive Mix" by DJ Hill for a total of 9 minutes and 28 seconds. The feat earned record-breaking participants the opportunity to be featured in the next Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition. In addition to the new record set by the group, one fortunate dancer walked away with a video game console, a dance video game and mat, and a 23" LCD flat screen TV.
The all-new Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008 (SRP: $19.95), the first Guinness World Records book devoted solely to the world of gaming, is on shelves now and bursting with new records, high score statistics and fascinating facts.
