The Wii U is in bad shape. Satoru Iwata has been sweating blood the past few weeks as he stood in front of displeased investors, and he even took a 50% pay cut. But all is not doom and gloom for the Wii U. From now until February 13th, five indie studios are coming together to support a sale and promote indie development on Wii U.
If you buy (or already own) one of the following indie games on the eShop--Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party, Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition, BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, Toki Tori 2+, or Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams--you can buy one or all of the remaining four games at a 60% discount. The developers have also made short goofy videos to promote another studios' game.
I think this is awesome. Indies having goodwill enough to promote each others' games is great, but they also recognize how important it is to promote the Wii U as a fertile indie platform. To be honest, it's true; while big AAA publishers have been abandoning the Wii U en masse, smaller, riskier studios have been consistently positive about the console and how refreshingly welcoming Nintendo has been to indie developers. There are several indie projects--Shin'en's FAST Racing Neo being one of them--that have me just as excited as Smash Bros, X or DK Tropical Freeze.

Toki Tori 2+
"Toki Tori 2+ is a Metroidvania style puzzle adventure. There are no tutorials, there's no hand-holding, no-one tells you what to do in Toki Tori 2+. The fun is in exploring and overcoming the obstacles of the lush forest island on your own merit."
BIT.TRIP Presents... Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien
"Runner2 is a rhythm-music, auto-running platformer. Players will run through fantastic environments, using brand new moves, to amazing new soundtracks as they run, jump, slide, kick, and soar toward the goal of tracking down the Nefarious Timbletot who has un-fused CommanderVideo's reality."
Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition
"Space Hooligans have escaped custody and are wreaking havoc all over Planet Land!
HQ calls on cybernetic peace-keeper Patricia Wagon to bring these renegades to justice."
