Apparently, Sega likes to make doubly sure that you know what they're putting on the Virtual Console; those weekly press releases from Nintendo just don't cut it, I guess.  This week we have Super Thunder Blade for the Genesis, at 800 Wii points.

SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that the SEGA Genesis classic, Super Thunder Blade will be available for download on the Wii Shop Channel September 17, 2007. Prices start at 800 Wii Points for SEGA Genesis titles. Wii Points can be purchased online or at select retailers at an MSRP of $20 for 2,000 points.

Game Summary

Super Thunder Blade - In this follow-up to Thunder Blade, gamers take control of a new and improved attack helicopter in a series of attacks against guerilla armies that are bent on taking over the world.  Although your aircraft is formidable, enemies are vast and varied including submarines, tanks, fighter planes, and more.  Commanding this state-of-the-art battle copter must be top-notch. Players must dodge oncoming fire, use various weapons to eliminate all enemy targets, and ultimately destroy a top-secret guerilla base.

The Wii Shop Channel serves as the Wii’s online storefront where visitors can redeem Wii Points to download games. Users need a high-speed Internet connection to access the Wii Shop Channel. Users can buy Wii Points at retail or with a credit card online from the Wii Shop Channel and redeem their Wii Points to download these and other classic games.
