The ban comes down on 2500 cheaters for Modern Warfare 2

The initial wave of banning Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has begun as around 2500 PC folks got the boot. The PC version uses Valve's VAC anti-cheating system to help detect if you're using a hack to play with. I've seen some videos of it in action and it's one of the few reasons I stopped playing Counter-Strike for a while. I mostly play co-op games now on online unless I get to know a good server for game like Team Fortress 2.

It's a constant fight against cheaters on the PC so I don't envy the folks monitoring for these hacks. I'm glad to see the banning though but it would be nice to be able to do it ourselves also, like those who operate dedicated servers. It's just too bad the game doesn't support it. Yeah, I'm calling for it!
