Over at Maximum PC, they have news
on the next update to Steam that should make a lot of people happy. With the Steam Cloud update, you'll be able to save all your settings, key bindings, and saved games on their server so that you can retrieve it on another machines as well as keeping it safe when your machine is wiped. Initially, Valve's games will have this feature but others will follow. I really applaud Valve for continuing to evolve Steam into THE online game and digital distribution platform for the PC. If more games take advantage of the Steam Cloud, you can be sure that'll be one of the first places I look at when purchasing a game as the convenience of having your settings and saves on a centralized server makes it really convenient for when I upgrade my machine's OS or even doing clean installs over my current hardware.
