Valve has announced that individuals can now purchase and play games that are currently in development through the new
Steam Early Access program. Individuals that purchase the work-in-progress titles have a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of game development and the ability to communicate directly with developers on forums for the discussion of bugs and such. As with other titles on Steam, Early Access games have all the same benefits of the community features ranging from screenshots to guides. The initial launch of Early Access games include:

- Arma 3
- Drunken Robot Pornography
- Gear Up
- Gnomoria
- Kenshi
- Kerbal Space Program
- Kinetic Void
- Patterns
- Prison Architect
- StarForge
- Under the Ocean
