Valve is hosting a two day event for developers to talk about all things associated with video game development. Steam Dev Days will take place in Seattle January 15 - 16, 2014 and it will let industry professionals to mingle in a casual environment and listen to talks by various individuals in the trade.
Now, this is an off the record event so don't expect any coverage from press. It's just a way for developers to just talk and share ideas as well as get hands on time with some hardware such as Valve's Steam Machines and controller. Being interested in development, I'd love to attend myself though.
It's good to see a company like Valve host one of these events. I'm sure with the vision of Steam Machines in living rooms, they are pushing hard to get more and more developers in the fold, especially trying to build Linux versions of their games so they can be part of the SteamOS ecosystem.
