Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes
has finally been scheduled for a North American release. The game will be released on both the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 on October 12, 2010. Interestingly enough, both version will be identical, with the only difference being the display resolution.
The game comes courtesy of Hiroyuki Kobayashi who also produced Devil May Cry 4. Sengoku Basara
allows players to assume the role(s) of multiple samurai heroes, all based on actual Japanese historical figures from 16th century Japan. The storyline loosely follows actual Japanese history, basing many of the game’s events on actual battles fought during the Warring States Period. I got to spend a ton of time with both version of the game back and April and came away thoroughly entertained. The game(s) has a fun factor that I feel many other games lack in today’s industry...
