Just about every competitive gamer has the urge and desire to share their highlights with the rest of the gaming world. Thanks to the technology of the modern day, with things such as Youtube and high speed internet, its as easy as ever to do. The main hurdle that many face in doing so is the high cost that it takes to secure quality video capture equipment for our HD consoles. Thanks to a new line of products from Rovi, that may not be a problem any more...

Rovi has unveiled two new products aimed at gamers, the Roxio Game Capture and the Roxio PC Game Capture. For PC players, the PC Game Capture device will be available later this month for $49.99. The device will allow PC gamers to capture in full HD at full screen resolutions. The console version offers the same capturing capabilities with resolutions up to 480P as well as screenshot capabilities in a wide variety of formats. The console version will run you $99.99.

In addition to capturing the source material, the Roxio devices also includes a full-featured video editor which will allow you turn out edited movies complete with transitions, background music, and text overlays. While there are undoubtedly cheaper solutions available for PC gamers, this is easily the most affordable means of capturing console gaming clips. The device will be available starting on March 24 through both online as well as major retailers such as Best Buy and Gamestop.

Corporation (Nasdaq:ROVI) today unveiled Roxio(R) Game Capture and
Roxio PC Game Capture, two affordably priced products that offer a
straightforward way for gamers to quickly and easily capture and share
PC and console game play videos.

"While some gamers are already creating and posting game play videos,
we believe there are many more waiting on the sidelines for solutions
that deliver the right mix of ease-of-use and features at a good price
point," Corey Ferengul, EVP Products at Rovi Corporation. "Roxio Game
Capture products are these solutions, making it easy for everyone to
capture, edit, post, and boast about their latest gaming
accomplishments. After all, setting a track record in GT5 or wreaking
havoc in Call of Duty is pretty satisfying in itself, but it is far
more fun to discover how your game play stacks up against the best of
the Internet."
