Rock Band DLC: The "It's never too late for Iron Maiden" Edition

In all the excitement of Project Natal, three new Metal Gear games, Metroid: Other M and all of the other hot news from E3, I completely forgot about Rock Band DLC.  It's true, I've had other things on my mind.  But if there's one thing i know, it's that it's never too late to rock some Iron Maiden.  Talk about good timing, this week's downloadable content is a twelve-pack from one of the greatest metal bands of all time, London's own Iron Maiden.  Announced a couple of weeks ago, this Iron Maiden set features some of their biggest songs, including tracks from albums as diverse as Powerslave, Piece of Mind, Somewhere in Time, The Number of the Beast, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son and this year's live album Flight 666.  You get classic tracks, including "Aces High," "The Number of the Beast," "Fear of the Dark," "Hallowed By Thy Name" and many more.

On an interesting note, one of the songs included in the pack is "Run to the Hills," which Rock Band vets will remember from the first installment.  This track was one of the three that was not able to be transferred from Rock Band 1 to Rock Band 2, so buying it in this set (or individually) is your own option to own it again.  This rockin' twelve-pack will run you 1600 points, which is about $20.  It's out now on the Xbox Live Marketplace and will be released tomorrow on the PlayStation 3.  No word as of yet about when we can expect this on the Wii.  If you only want a few of these songs, then you can also pick up each track for 160 points ($2).  With the big Alice Cooper set a couple of weeks ago and this week's Maiden release, it definitely feels like Harmonix is giving those old school metal heads something to get excited about.  How long will it be until we get a big Black Sabbath pack?
