Everybody remembers when Psycho Mantis told Solid Snake to put down the controller so that he could demonstrate his psychokinetic powers. Well,

It's possible that Sega is trying to prove that a compelling rhythm game can be created out of nothing more than tapping on a box. That a closet full of peripheral instruments are not what make the game. Okay, fair point. But Sega may also be trying to prove that stunning visuals are not the cornerstone of a good rhythm game, so they've summarily drawn up the dullest visuals on any musical-rhythm game to date.
