EA's not the only one letting people go. Raven Software
is also laying off a few people stating that with the completion of both
Wolfenstein and
Wolverine, they are reducing their workforce to better reflect their upcoming slate. They recently had
Singularity as another one of those titles being pushed back to 2010. Rumors say that out of the 180 staff members, 56 have been let go but like EA, no confirmation of numbers were given. It's never good to see people lose their jobs so I hope both these guys and the ones at Maxis find new employment quickly.
