Patch-work: Breach gets some fixes... for the PC version

by: Peter Skeritt -
Atomic Games' first entry into home video games, Breach, has met with some harsh criticism from game reviewers and consumers, but the development company has released a patch for it which they hope will alleviate many of the issues and concerns. Judging from the press release (which you can see in full after the jump), lag reduction is a primary concern... but there's quite the laundry list of fixes included here.

The big disappointment for consumers who bought Breach for Xbox LIVE Arcade is that the patch isn't yet available for them. Atomic has focused on the Windows PC market first, which certainly will not bode well for the game's reputation on the Xbox 360. The press release pegs "soon" as a time frame for the 360 patch, which is uncomfortably vague. Breach certainly wasn't meant to be a fly-by-night effort, and those who paid $15 for it-- only $5 less than PC owners-- certainly deserve to have their games fixed, too.

We'll certainly see if this patch helps to alleviate the myriad of problems that Breach players are facing. In the meantime, have a look at the full press release and see what you might have missed out on.
