Both the Xbox Live Arcade and Steam services have been getting trips down memory lane through the release of some of Sega’s classic Genesis titles over the past couple of years. It may have taken a while but the lineup is now making its way to the PlayStation Network.

Sony and Sega have announced a full lineup of Sega Genesis Collection titles for the PSN. The titles will be rolled out over the course of the next six months. As an added bonus, PlayStation Lus members will have access to the titles at no cost and earlier than regular PSN users. If you aren’t a member of the PS+ program, than you will have to pay $4.99 if you want to relive some of the 16-bit classics included in the lineup.

Here is the official release date listing for all of the included titles:
  • Sonic the Hedgehog: March 29, 2011 (available for free to PS+ members from March 1 through April 5)
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2: April 19, 2011 (available for free to PS+ members from April 5 to May 3)
  • Streets of Rage 2: May 17, 2011 (available for free to PS+ members from May 3 through May 31)
  • Golden Axe 2: June 14, 2011 (available for free to PS+ members from May 31 through July 5)

  • Altered Beast: August 16, 2011 (available for free to PS+ members from August 2 through August 30)
Each title will include added trophy support in order to make it a little more appealable to would-be buyers...
